The process of gluing magnet segments together with liquid adhesive is extremely challenging, because the magnets and the bonding surface have to be clean and greaseless before being glued together and the adhesive must be applied evenly to ensure an adhesive effect on contact surface. Otherwise, the magnet pile is prone to tear up at the joints when under load and damage the drive.
After adhesion superfluous adhesive must be removed, which leads to a costly manufacturing process. In addition, it’s important to make sure that the size and weight of each magnet pile are the same in order to avoid imbalance.
